Ford Racing releases 2025 Performance Tune

Recently rebranded Ford Racing (previously Ford Performance) has released their 2025 Explorer 3.0L tune. It is advertised to produce 445 HP @ 5,700 RPM and 515 lb. ft. Torque at 3,000 RPM. This is up from 430 HP @ 6,000 RPM and 467 lb ft torque @ 3,500 RPM that the 2020-24 Ford Performance tune produced.

The tune is not CARB approved, and is not emissions complaint in the state of California.

The Ford Racing tune is a canned tune , and uses the ProCal4 device. It officially is advertised to be compatible with 2025 Explorer ST and Platinum, although it should work perfectly fine for 2025+ units like the 2026 ST and Tremor as they are no different powertrain wise.

The Ford Racing tune carries it’s own warranty of 3 years/36k miles, which starts from the vehicles in-service date. It technically is considered a aftermarket part, so the factory warranty and any ESP would technically treated no different then a real custom aftermarket tune.

Due to the price and relatively shorter warranty coverage, I myself believe you should wait until warranty is up and just get a real custom tune if you are worried about warranty. This is up to personal opinion, but to me, since FP tune only have such a short period of warranty coverage, and their prices tend to be very similar to a regular aftermarket tune, I would either wait for the 3 years/36k mile warranty to pass, or just go all the way with an regular aftermarket part. The tunes are way too conservative and the price for them is more than it’s worth. Of course this is all personal opinion, just something to take into consideration.
